How will a blog help my business?

It seems that everywhere you look there are blogs. Food, clothes, opinion, political, you name it. Blogging isn’t just for personal expression anymore, it can be a valuable part of your business’s digital strategy. Creating a blog isn’t easy but can draw consumers into your brand. Here are some tips to help you get started and some outcomes you can expect.

Creation

First, you need a name, ours is “Be Inspired.” Your blog name should represent your business but also be catchy and memorable. Like the name, the branding of your blog page or website should not necessarily mimic but instead compliment your everyday branding.

The goal is to create a blog that is memorable on its own and keeps people coming back for more.

Timeline

Keeping a consistent flow of content is key. There are many blogs out there that start off strong with weekly or even daily posts and then go silent for months. If your content isn’t fresh, people aren’t going to read it.

A study done by HubSpot showed that B2B companies that published more than 16 blog posts per month received 3.5 times more traffic than companies who only published 0-4 posts per month. B2C companies had even better results. Those that posted more than 16 blogs a month had 4.5 times more traffic than others who posted 0-4 times per month.

What’s Next?

You’ve written some great content, posted it when you should and the only interaction you are seeing is from family and friends. Don’t worry, it takes about six months for your posts to gain traction on search engines. Keep pushing forward and create content that is worth reading.

Why bother?

We understand that blogging can be time-consuming but it is worth it. Posting blogs on social platforms helps to drive traffic to your website in a non-sales pitch way. Blogging also helps to establish you and your business as a thought leader. Great content will have consumers coming back for more.

Blogs are a long-term investment but usually can be handled completely in-house. Try your hand at crafting a blog post and see where it takes you.
